Claire Ninham draws and paints from her home studio in North Yorkshire, UK, where she is inspired by the natural world in her immediate surroundings. Working in harmony with the seasons, she strives to capture the essence of her subjects. These range from the minute to the expansive. A leaf skeleton is as intriguing as a summer breeze.

Claire studied illustration and printmaking at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Scotland. For her degree show, she developed her first body of work informed by poetry. She continues this connection today and now writes her own short form poems. Seeking to simplify, with an increasing focus on light and space, her painting is becoming more minimal.
